It is fairly a known fact that consumers do not like pop-up trailer RVs as much as regular trailers and yet they are pretty good for many reasons. For instance pop up folding camping trailers are better streamlined for towing and the wind resistance saves huge amounts on fuel and with today’s prices that is a good thing.
Also consider that popup folding RVs are not as top heavy and safer to drive in the wind. For storing you can put them in your back yard behind the fence and no one will complain as they cannot even see them. Fewer and fewer people seem to be buying popup trailers each year but at least 30,000 plus are produced and sold each year; although many dealers no longer wish to carry them.
About a third of the dealers who sell them felt that the customers were not satisfied with them and thought they would be better to target the $5,000 crowd rather with scaled down units as low as $2500 for entry-level campers. Those customers who bought larger more elaborate units had good things to say about them like the TrailManor Type, but those are pretty high-end as far as travel popup trailers go.
Apparently, we are seeing a trend away from popup trailer RVs perhaps due to the high-volume low costs of regular ones. Nevertheless, this does mean you can get a good deal on one if something like this suits your tastes. So, perhaps you will consider all this in 2006.
