You must have often wondered how to make the right choice before buying a vehicle taking into consideration its cost over a long period of time. For many of you, who already have a vehicle, it is sad that you did not visit this site before but now that you have, it will definitely be an easier choice to make, for your next vehicle.
Firstly, you have to understand that by lowest cost, we mean the lowest running or owning cost which is does not necessarily mean the vehicle which is priced the lowest. Generally, websites give you a five year approximate cost of owning every new vehicle in the market. This helps you make the right choice and know what to expect from your car in the next few years. The cost also includes some items that you may not take into consideration while making the choice. The right way to estimate the cost is to calculate every expenditure and take into account every factor like depreciation, taxes and fees, interest on financing, premiums on insurance, maintenance and repairs and fuel efficiency.
This method promises to be quite accurate but remember that this is a comparative method not a predictive one. This is because the method uses a lot of logical assumptions looking at the performance of other vehicles. The actual cost of owning that particular vehicle for five years may vary depending on one’s personal circumstances such as the average number of miles you drive and also your driving history.

If you want to enjoy the bright lights of Las Vegas while still traveling with your whole family, staying at one of the Nevada RV lodgings is a great way to enjoy the area with people of all ages.
The first major component of your performance exhaust system is the header. Most Honda Acura come with a crude cast iron log-type manifold stock from the factory. However Honda Acura manifolds are much better than the ones found on a domestic cars but more power can be made with a real tubular header. How much power you make with a header depends also on what is behind the header. If the stock exhaust system includes restrictive muffler design, small diameter exhaust pipes with a lots of wrinkle bends on them the header is not going to have a chance of making a big difference in the performance and horsepower. A good header can be expected to make 3-5 horsepower with the stock exhaust system from the header back. That sounds disappointing but on a engine with numerous modifications the same performance (aftermarket) header can gain you 10 horsepower. Any of the big power adding modifications like nitrous oxide, supercharger virtually require a free flowing exhaust and performance header if you want to take advantage of there power potentials.
Performance headers usually come in 4-2-1 design where each cylinder has its own exhaust pipe than they merge into a pair and each pair of pipes combine into a single pipe. Usually cylinders 4 and 1 are combined and cylinder 2 and 3 make the second pair. The cylinders are combined in such a way because the engine pistons fire 1 and 3 then 2 and 4 and the exhaust of cylinder 4 is going to create a little (from 5 to 15 psi) negative pressure for a cylinder 1 that is going to help to suck out the exhaust gas out of that cylinder.
Installing performance header is quite easy. Most aftermarket headers are design to use all the factory mounting points and brackets. When shopping for a header look for clean welds and thick flange plates for a good seal. The stock gasket should be replaced and it is going to work perfectly fine with your performance header. Make sure to check if the engine in your Honda Acura car is the original or it’s an engine swap. Most headers don’t have brackets for mounting the factory heat shield but it is pretty sure you will want to show off your new header anyway.
Performance exhaust header can be installed on Prelude, Civic, Rsx, s2000, Integra or any other model Honda Acura car.
If you’re not sure, it may be time to take a hard look at it. The reason? It is undeniable that today the Web plays a more vital role in used-car sales than do print ads. More than twice as many late-model used-vehicle buyers find the vehicle they purchase through the Internet than both newspaper and magazine classified ads combined, according to the J.D. Power and Associates 2006 Used Autoshopper.com Study SM.
Add to that, the phenomenon of the so-called Generation-Y. Typically, the twenty something and under population purchase used cars. The used-vehicle market will only increase as today’s younger buyers become a larger buying force in the market. Buyers under the age of 35 are more than four times as likely to be led to the vehicle they purchase by information found online than by print classified ads .
But many dealerships have holes in their used-car online marketing efforts. This is evident if you visit the average dealer’s website. Used-vehicle inventory on the average dealer’s website is out of date; pictures are missing or are incomplete; and used-vehicle department sales staffs are not typically aware of Web-related activities.
At the very least, dealers should require their Internet managers have a process for uploading used-vehicle inventory online. This includes both the dealership website and classified sites such as AutoTrader.com, Cars.com, Vehix.com, UsedCars.com, and any other lead generating sites that the dealer is signed up with. Each vehicle should have approximately six to ten photos at a minimum. If your lead generating site allows for 27 or 32 pictures, then it only makes sense to include that many.
Successful Internet managers also suggest writing a short description of the vehicle, rather than relying on acronyms that many buyers may not understand. This helps to create an emotional attachment to it, and leaves the customer feeling better informed.
In my experience, I have found that it is also imperative to include a price and mileage with each and every vehicle. Online buyers are seeking information. The more information you can provide them, so that they can make an informed decision, the better. If you don’t provide this information, they will more likely buy from a dealership who did.
So take a step back and examine your online marketing efforts. Do all of your online vehicles have photos? Do they include at least 6-10 photos of each car? Is there SOLD inventory still being advertised on your sites? Are you adding custom descriptions for each vehicle? Chances are, if you are the “average” dealership, you have room for improvement. Start being above average and start selling more cars!

Tent trailers are a fun and easy alternative for families and couples who would like to own a recreational vehicle, but don’t have the finances for one of the larger towables or the motorized models. Tent trailers are sometimes called pop-up trailers or camp trailers, and are easily towed behind most mid or large-sized vehicles. Although they are fairly compact when they are closed, when they are opened many are quite roomy. You can sleep anywhere from 2 to 6 people (or sometimes more) in them depending on the features and the layout.
Features: As with any recreational camping vehicle, tent trailers have sleeping areas. Sometimes they are hidden in the center part of the trailer, but most are on the fold-out sides. But, not only do pop up trailers have sleeping areas they also can have sinks, stoves, tables, refrigerators, and some even have showers. All of the items are extremely well designed to fold up or stow easily when the trailer is closed and open up for roominess when it is open. Since you won’t be spending all of your time sitting inside tent trailers some have flexible or fabric awnings that can be pulled out for coverage over a seating area or table.
Cost: Tent trailers range in cost anywhere from under $10,000 to around $20,000 if you want all of the top of the line features and “bells and whistles.” This is a fairly reasonable cost for even most young families and couples on a budget.
Towing Tent Trailers: Just as with towing anything behind your car or truck you will not only need to make sure that the vehicle is capable of towing the extra weight, but that the tow hitch is as well. Hitches have ratings on them that will tell you how much they are capable of pulling. Make sure that you figure out the weight when it is loaded down.
Advantages: Using tent trailers has advantages. You can leave them parked while you drive the car to go pick up groceries or go on a day sight-seeing trip. It is also much more comfortable in a pop-up trailer than it might be sleeping on the ground in a tent. The cost is also minimal compared to most other recreational vehicle options.
This recreational vehicle puts the fun and the functional factors together along with a low price-making it appealing to all those who are looking for an economical way to camp in comfort.

One very interesting combination of industries is the taking of a Truck and making it into a Recreational Vehicle or Motor Home. In fact it is getting quite common these days and there are several manufacturers who specialize in this market.
Generally they are selling to corporate marketing departments, auto racing companies and real men who want a real truck chassis underneath their motor coach, can you blame them? A real truck means a stronger motor home, big powerful motor and truck strength quality components. You have probably seen such trucks on the road.
Of course there are some motor home buyers who buy them simply for the looks or the known company name on the front of the truck, meaning getting parts is easy and they are easier to work on in case they break down too.
Many people like these RVs to tow off-road racing toys and they seem to be a hit with that market segment too. Having a real truck underneath your motor home does not only mean strength it also is a huge upgrade in the safety department.
Despite what you might think these motor homes on the truck chassis do not use any more fuel even though they have a huge engine. This is because they are going down the highway at extremely low RPMs as the truck is use to towing a trailer of 40-60 thousand pounds but the motor home may only weight 10,000 pounds or less, so it never even breaks a sweat. If you are thinking of buying such a motor home, RV or motor coach, I recommend checking into the Truck Motor Homes first.

Motorcycle engine design and innovation has long surpassed that of the automotive industry, and industry observers agree that the big companies like Yamaha, Honda and Suzuki can muster considerable R&D prowess here, which can then be applied to their automobile engines.
Competitors are especially aware of this. Says former Oldsmobile chief engineer Ted Louckes: “That’s where the leading edge of piston engine technology is today. It’s not in automobiles; it’s not in aircraft. It’s in motorcycles.”
The Goal: Better Combustion
When considering the advantages of a combustion chamber crammed with more than four valves-per-cylinder, the first inclination is to think, aha! Flow area! Five valves equals more flow area! True, to a degree, but that’s only part of the Yamaha’s design strength.
In the reigning days of the two-valvers, engine designers would control pinging by incorporating squish bands into the combustion chambers. By the 1960s, the four-valve heads of Cosworth and Honda racing engines were allowing narrow included valve angles and thus shallow combustion chambers. Put the spark plug in the center, and voila!, good combustion.
Yamaha looked beyond four valves to unlock even better combustion. In the early ’80s (Yamaha had only been a serious producer of four-stroke engines for about ten years!) it experimented with a variety of head and valve configurations, even trying a seven-valve-per-cylinder (four intakes, three exhaust) design.
Finally, five valves per jug was found to be the right combination. This design gives the engine extra intake valve perimeter, which allows it to flow more air at low-to-medium valve lifts — exactly where valves in most production automotive engines spend most of their operating time.
Honda of America Mfg., Inc., has combined plant and production engineering with advanced manufacturing techniques to become one of the leading engine producers in North America.
The million-square-foot plant manufactures 500,000 high technology engines and drive trains a year. Kinzer noted that the plant produces everything that makes a car “go and stop.” He said that even Japan has no Honda facility comparable to the Anna plant. Its production, he reported, equals the total of seven similar Honda manufacturing units in Japan. At present production levels, a Civic or Accord engine is produced at the Anna plant every 27 seconds.
Honda’s iron foundry operates three shifts per day. The ferrous casting and machining operations include the production of engine cylinder sleeves and brake discs and drums. Aluminum casting operations include high pressure casting of engine blocks and transmission and torque converter cases, low pressure casting of engine cylinder heads and gravity casting of pistons.

In North America, the Ford Motor Company has started checking and testing their vehicles for long-term corrosion and rust resistance. This is done in the hot and dry climate of Arizona. Aside from this feat, the company is also testing their vehicles for the mentioned resistance not only in hot climates but also for a cold one.
Jeffrey Helms is the manager of the Materials and Development Release in the Ford Global Paint Engineering department. He says about corrosion, “There isn’t much corrosion below freezing. Actually, the worst thing you can do your vehicle in the winter is to park it in your garage. When it warms up, the ice turns to water and carries road salt into various nooks and crannies where it starts to go to work on the vehicle’s coating if it is not properly protected.”
The entire testing is done at the Ford Motor Company’s Arizona Proving Ground (APG). The process of testing and checking is done through a more effective way of distributing the salt in and around the vehicle’s exterior. What the testing center actually uses is a high pressure salt spray. Helms states, “Every so often, as part of our overall vehicle durability testing at APG, a car or a truck is driven into a special chamber where it is exposed to salt spray. With an accelerated test schedule, we can simulate years of customer use in just a few months.”
Of course, the tests that the APG uses are laboratory methods that have been sanctioned by the Society of Automotive Engineers. These methods are facilitated so as to be able to analyze the corrosion protection of individual components of these Ford vehicles.

Every truck owner needs a tonneau cover to, well, cover their gear, save gas and keep junk out of the bed. But, if you care about your stuff not getting stolen, you shouldn’t even consider a soft tonneau cover, which is your cheapest bed coverage option. You should stick with the two most popular options for a serious truck owner and their rig: a hard tonneau cover or a retractable model.
Hard tonneau covers are one of the most popular styles around. They’re the unquestioned choice of truck customizers and anyone who places smooth looks above all else. But, there are plenty of ways to use a hard tonneau cover for utility, and plenty of no-frills models that give you hard tonneau security without all of the custom-painted pricing. A hard tonneau also securely locks to your bed and wraps over the top of the bed rails, giving a thief virtually no chance of getting at your gear.
Hard tonneau covers have one big drawback, though: they’re hard to remove when you need to carry a big load. You can’t have full access to your bed without taking the cover completely off, which you’ll have to do when your load is taller than the top of your bed. Since hard tonneaus weight in excess of 100lbs., there’s not easy or fast way to do it, either. So, in terms of security and looks, a hard tonneau cover is king. But, when you need to carry a big and/or tall load, it may cause more hassle than its worth.
Let’s look at retractable covers now. Think of these tonneau covers as a rolling garage door for your bed. They usually operate manually with a pull strap, and lock closed at several positions including the end at the tailgate. The panels comprising a retractable tonneau cover are typically made of a resilient material like aluminum that can take a beating and keep working right, though they’re not quite as rigid as a hard tonneau cover. Some retractable tonneaus can even be opened and closed by remote. That’s right—you can get a motorized bed cover for your truck. And, whether you open it by hand or by remote, it just takes a few seconds to get relatively unobstructed access to your truck bed’s payload capacity.
Here come the downsides. First, installation is much more difficult. The rails have to be shimmed to be perfectly level before the cover will operate smoothly. The entire cover rolls into a heavy canister that stacks behind your rear window; this canister collects moisture that must be drained, which requires drilling holes for drainage lines. About that canister: it’s pretty big, and the space it occupies is space you’ll never get back for bed storage. Except for long, flat items that slide along the floor of your bed, the front foot of your carrying capacity is essentially gone. While a hard tonneau cover can give you all of your bed space after tricky disconnecting of hardware and lifting the bulky lid, a retractable cover never really gives you all of your bed space. That is, unless you’re willing to unscrew the canister, remove the rails, and unhook the drainage tubes to get your bed back.
Generally speaking, if you hardly ever carry big loads and want a cover to secure your smaller stuff, a hard tonneau cover will do your truck right for the rest of its life. If carrying big gear and having the fastest access to the most space sounds more like your brand of beer, a retractable tonneau cover will never have you thinking twice about the hard cover you passed on. And, either way you go, you’ll be quite happy to not have wasted cash on a soft tonneau disappointment.
The best way to pick between autoanything.com/tonneau-covers/20A50181A1.aspx hard tonneau covers and autoanything.com/tonneau-covers/20A50301A1.aspx retractable tonneau covers is to examine how you would use it, along with the pros and cons of each.
Cars do not work too well without quality wheels. Wheels secure the performance of the car and the safety of the occupants. This is the reason why a car purchaser should know the elements that make wheels outstanding.
Wheels come in a wide-variety of choices. Magnesium alloy, chrome, steel, and aluminum are some of the choices. Nonetheless, the most famous among them is Magnesium alloy wheels or “mag wheels.” These wheels are commonly used on racing cars for better performance. This is because magnesium alloy wheels are lighter than steel or aluminum wheels.
Magnesium alloy wheels are produced by hot forging from magnesium alloys ZK60 and MA-14. The typical weight of a magnesium alloy wheel is approximately 8 to 12 kilograms, depending on the car model. Drawbacks of this type of wheel include the high price and the difficulty of recycling. Hence, it is not practical most street cars.
Steel wheels, on the other hand, are the most convenient tire package especially during winter. They are usually available in black and silver finish. Styling is made easier by using updated wheel covers. Compared to other alloys, steel wheels are more affordable. Steel is preferred by automakers because it is easy to manufacture and it reduces material costs.
Wheels also vary in size. People who are serious about their cars are aware that the size of the wheel is crucial to the performance of the vehicle. The primary effect of altering the wheel diameter is the need to change the gears to adjust the ratio of engine speed to wheel rotation speed. This is because the bigger the wheels are, the slower the car become. Nonetheless, the acceleration and top speed of a car do not solely depend on the wheel diameter if the gear ratio is optimized for that particular diameter. Larger wheels will not be affected by small road bumps.
Nowadays, the offer of a 26 inch wheel and tyre package is no longer amazing. These wheels can be used by Cadillac Escallade, Lincoln Navigator and Hummer. They can also serve as custom Ford truck wheels for F150 and other large American trucks.
When it comes to quality, durability and design, auto aficionados prefer Ford truck wheels, GMC truck wheels, and Toyota wheels. These wheels are especially manufactured to match their makes and models.
Furthermore, quality wheels must have routine maintenance to keep them in perfect working condition. In addition, maintenance give auto wheels longer wear. Owners can also opt for customization to personalize the car.
